2013 Calendar Photo Contest

  • Have you ever taken the "shot of the year"?
  • Do you think your area of the lakes is not adequately represented in the calendar?
  • Would you like to win $50?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you should read more.

For the 2013 Portage Lakes Calendar we are inviting everyone to submit photographs which may be selected for publication. We’re looking for scenic photos that capture the beauty of our area throughout all four seasons.

 

Contest Rules

  • The contest is open to anyone.
  • Photos must be taken in the Portage Lakes area.
  • Photos from all seasons are encouraged.
  • Color photos are encouraged.
  • Digital photos must be at least 2500 pixels wide and 2000 pixels tall.
  • Original negatives or slides are required if the photo is not digital.
  • If the photograph has identifiable people in it, you must submit signed photo releases from them. If the photo depicts minors, you must obtain written authorization from a parent or guardian. Forms are available upon request.
  • Photographs become the property of the Portage Lakes Rowing Association once they have been submitted. No photographs will be returned.
  • For each photo chosen for the 2012 calendar, the winning photographer will receive $50, five copies of the calendar and acknowledgement in the calendar.
  • Photos must be received by August 31, 2012 or may not be considered until the following year.
  • Multiple entries per person are permitted.

Judging & Photo Selection

  • A panel of volunteer judges will rate the quality of each photo.
  • Final selection will be determined by the editor to ensure each month is properly depicted and that the calendar has a variety of subjects.
  • Contest winners will be notified on or about September 15, 2012.

Submission

  • An original signed submission form must be mailed to PO Box 19103 Akron OH 44319.
  • The submission form for any photo with identifiable people must be submitted with the required release form(s).
  • Digital photos may be e-mailed to contest@portagelakescalendar.com or mailed on a CD along with the submission form.
  • Printed photos must be mailed along with the submission form.
